BACK TO NEWS
A HUGE Welcome back to all of our Tadpoles families for 2019! And a MASSIVE thank you to all of our families for making 2018 a great year!
We have had a HOT HOT HOT start to the year, meaning lots of swimming for our little ones which is great! We love to see how clever our tadpoles come back from holidays after practicing all summer.
When practicing your swimming at home or at the local pool, remember to instill correct technique to ensure children return to lessons stronger that when they stopped. Using flotation aids is great to keep them safe around the water, but be sure to do some practicing of the correct kicking legs as well, ESPECIALLY for little ones just starting out. Practicing a bad kick can lead to progression issues in different skills, and can hold children back for YEARS! It is one of the hardest things to correct as a teacher! Get them swimming without goggles to, and practicing safety steps as well as cannon balls!
Floating is also very important, learning buoyancy in the water and water resistance and displacement (moving the water around using their bodies) is a very useful skill in ALL swimming and can be used in ALL aquatic environments, even at the beach!
We hope new and returning Tadpoles have a wonderful start to the year, and a VERY special GOOD LUCK to our little ones who go off to big school this year!
